Over 50 years of experience · Valverde del Camino

A story shaped
by craftsmanship.

Lazo y Duque is a manufacturer of leather boots and footwear based in Valverde del Camino, Huelva. Our work is closely connected to a town where shoemaking forms part of its history, economy and identity.

For more than five decades, we have learned, evolved and adapted our designs to new ways of dressing and living. We still preserve something essential: we know our products because we make them ourselves.

Behind every pair are carefully selected materials, skilled hands and a way of working that remains closely tied to our origins.

Our journey

More than five decades
learning the craft.

Our story began in Valverde del Camino, a town with a shoemaking tradition that had already been developing for many years.

From our earliest days, Lazo y Duque has specialised in making leather footwear for people who need comfort, durability and a well-constructed product.

The countryside, horse riding, pilgrimages and everyday life have formed part of our surroundings from the beginning. This close connection has given us first-hand knowledge of how a good boot should perform: how it should fit, which materials work best for each use and which details make a difference after many hours of wear.

Over time, we have introduced new designs and adapted to new needs, but our knowledge still begins in the same place: the workshop.

For us, tradition does not mean repeating the same things forever. It means preserving what still has value and using our accumulated experience to continue improving.

Our origins

Valverde del Camino,
a town of shoemakers.

Talking about Lazo y Duque also means talking about Valverde del Camino.

Located in the province of Huelva, this town has a long-standing connection with leatherwork, footwear and leather goods.

Shoemaking in Valverde del Camino has been documented since the 19th century. Across generations, workshops, manufacturers and craftspeople have passed down their knowledge of leather cutting, upper stitching, lasting, sewing and finishing.

This shared knowledge forms part of the environment in which Lazo y Duque was founded and has grown.

For us, saying that a pair is made in Valverde del Camino means more than pointing to a place on a map. It means recognising the origins of a craft, a way of working and a community that has built much of its identity around footwear.

That is why we continue to manufacture here.

From our workshop to your feet

Knowing every pair
inside and out.

One of the main differences at Lazo y Duque is that we are manufacturers.

Our team is directly involved in the different stages that transform leather and other materials into finished footwear.

Selecting the right leather, cutting it correctly, joining the pieces, working over the last, attaching the sole and checking the finish all require experience. These small decisions combine to determine how the footwear will perform when it reaches the person who will wear it.

Manufacturing our own footwear also allows us to understand our designs beyond the information shown on a product page. We know how they are constructed and can advise customers about sizing, fit, materials and intended uses based on direct product knowledge.

Certified origin

An origin
we can prove.

Lazo y Duque is one of the manufacturers covered by the “Valverde del Camino” Guarantee Mark.

This mark identifies products manufactured in the town that meet its established requirements regarding origin, materials, production and quality.

Products covered by the Guarantee Mark can be identified through the corresponding authenticity elements. These allow customers to distinguish products genuinely made in Valverde del Camino from others that simply use the town’s name as a marketing claim.

For us, this mark represents something very simple: being able to prove where our work comes from.

We do more than say that we are from Valverde. We manufacture here.

A craft that continues to evolve

The same roots,
new ways to wear them.

Our customers’ needs have changed over the years, and our catalogue has evolved with them.

Boots traditionally associated with the countryside, horse riding and pilgrimages now sit alongside designs created for many other uses. We make footwear for equestrian activities, hunting, outdoor pursuits and traditional celebrations, as well as boots, ankle boots and shoes that fit naturally into everyday and urban life.

This evolution does not mean leaving our origins behind.

It means applying what we have learned over decades to new designs, materials, lasts and ways of wearing footwear.

We want every Lazo y Duque product to retain the character of Valverde del Camino while becoming part of the everyday life of the person who wears it.

From our origins to our process

The story continues
in every pair.

Our story explains where we come from. To truly understand Lazo y Duque, however, you need to step inside the workshop.

This is where experience becomes a finished product: selecting materials, preparing each piece, stitching, lasting and inspecting the footwear before it leaves our hands.
